Image metadata display and editor

An image is recorded in Wikidocumentaries when a user interacts with an it by favouriting it or geolocating etc.

In the Image viewer, metadata from the source is read live when the image is displayed. At this point the metadata can either be saved to Wikidocumentaries as text or it can always remain only at the original site. Users enrich the data by associating the textual entries with existing or new Wikidata or Wikidocumentaries entities and translating descriptions into their languages. When the image metadata is considered ready enough, the image can be ingested to Wikimedia Commons. See an animated sequence in a slide 32. Image metadata enrich change type.png
